Arlan Reese Johnson

Arlan Reese Johnson (77) passed away Saturday, August 3, 2024, at his home in Bemidji, MN.

Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at Amsterdam Cemetery, Goodell, IA.

Arlan was born January 16, 1947, in Belmond, Iowa, to Ora and Opal (Trees) Johnson. Arlan lived his early years in northern Iowa working as a mechanic, welder and truck driver. He enjoyed hunting and fishing for recreation. In 1986, Arlan and his family moved to Bemidji, Minnesota where his brother Ronald had lived who also was an avid sportsman. In Arlan's later years he used his mechanical inclination to do carpentry, maintenance, and general handyman work. He would often make a special effort to use his skills to help family, friends, and strangers in need.

Arlan is survived by his sons Scott (Mary), Ora (Tami), Arlan Jr., Mark, and Justin (Rachel); daughter Lisa (Kyle); sister Sheryl; along with many other family and friends. Arlan was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Susan, and second wife Vivian; brothers Aaron and Ronald; sisters Darlene, Bonnie, Bernice, Ioleata, Effie, and Juanita; along with many other family and friends.

Arlan will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
