Ann Louise Loeffler was born on July 17, 1961 in Bemidji, Minnesota to Miles and Sally (Potvin) Adkins. She grew up in Cass Lake, Minnesota and attended Cass Lake High School, Class of 1979. Ann graduated from the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, Minnesota with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing in 1983. She worked as a primary care nurse for Indian Health Services in Cass Lake for thirty-four years. She married Stephen Loeffler (Steve) on September 9, 1989, and together they had two daughters, Katelyn and Abby.
Some of Ann’s great joys were spending time at the lake, taking the boat out on the Cass Lake chain of lakes, tending to her flowers, and reading novels. She was a hard worker and loved being a nurse and caring for her patients. After Ann retired, she and Steve spent their winters in Florida as she loved the heat and hated being cold. Ann was an avid fan of Minnesota Vikings football and Minnesota Timberwolves basketball. She was a devoted mother to her daughters and a loving grandmother to her four grandchildren.
In 2022, while in Florida, Ann received a heart transplant. She recently celebrated her one-year “Heartiversary” in October 2023.
Ann is survived by her loving husband of 34 years, Steve Loeffler of Bemidji, Minnesota; daughters Katelyn (Gabriel) Mooney of Greenbush, Minnesota and Abby Loeffler of Jacksonville, Florida; sister Mary Adkins of Grand Forks, North Dakota; brother Mike (Sue) Adkins of Solway, Minnesota; grandchildren Cecilia, Joseph, Damien, and Therese Mooney of Greenbush, Minnesota; and grandpups Sadie and Sophie of Jacksonville, Florida. She is preceded in death by her parents, Miles and Sally Adkins and infant sister Mary Claire.
