Ann Batchelder, 83, of Bemidji, MN died Thursday, July 18, 2019 at Havenwood Care Center, Bemidji.
Memorial Services will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, September 6, 2019 at Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Naylor officiating. Family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Inurnment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Bemidji.
Ann Patton was born November 28, 1935 in Federal Dam, MN to George and Vesta (Smith) Patton. She grew up in Federal Dam and graduated from Boy River High School in 1953 where she graduated at the top of her class. Following high school, Ann moved to Bemidji to attend Bemidji State Teachers College where she earned an Associate degree in 1955. After college, Ann was employed with Andrews-Guyan Agency and later with the Otter Tail Power Company. Later in her life, Ann enjoyed working for many years at the Bemidji Area Chamber of Commerce.
Ann was active in the community throughout her life. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, the Mrs. Jaycees, the Republican Party, P.E.O. and the Bemidji Curling Club. Ann very much enjoyed travel to visit her daughter in New York City and Philadelphia as well as overseas to Australia, New Zealand, Italy and Switzerland, among other countries. Her favorite travels took her to Ireland where she learned about her heritage. She was also an avid curler and bridge player.
She is survived by her daughter, Karen Batchelder of Philadelphia, PA. She is preceded in death by her parents and brothers Charles “Bud” Patton and George “Ike” Patton.
