Andy Martin Talevson

Andy Talevson, 91, of Solway, MN passed away Thursday, July 7, 2022 surrounded by family.

Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 16, 2022 at the Jones Township Cemetery, Solway, MN.

Andrew M. Talevson was born Sept. 21, 1930 to Martin and Bernice (Wallace) Talevson in Bemidji, MN where he graduated high school in 1948.  He then enlisted in the US Army as a marksman in 1955 and was stationed in Hawaii until 1957. He was great with a pistol and won numerous 1st place military medals for competing in tournaments.

He then came home met and married the love of his life Gracie I. Lyman on October 11, 1958. They raised their 2 sons Roy and Marty on their rural farm in Solway, MN until Gracie passed away in 1989.

Andy spent many years running his own backhoe company putting in sewer systems, water lines and doing landscaping for many of the residents around the area.

In his later years his joy was to dance every Friday and Saturday nights at the local bars, he was a joy to be around, talked to and knew everyone, and treated everyone like family.

He is survived by his children Roy (Nette) of Solway and Marty of Bemidji. His two wayward grandchildren Brian and Kristy. And his great grandchildren Jacob (Shania) Fischer, Jonna Seifert.
