Allen Herbert Stevens

Allen Stevens, age 88, passed away of lung cancer on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at Sanford Bemidji Medical Center. 

Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 AM followed by the memorial service at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at Olson Schwartz Funeral Home.  Inurnment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Bemidji.

Allen was born on February 14, 1933 in Wadena, MN to George and Clara (Bjerke) Stevens.  He grew up in Bemidji and was confirmed at Nymore Lutheran Church.  He graduated from Bemidji High School in 1951.  He served in the US Navy from 1952 to 1954.  Then he worked at Bemidji Laundry and the family grocery stores.  In 1971 Allen married Ann Viktora Kucaba at Calvary Lutheran Church.  Together they enjoyed car rides, blueberry picking, and camping trips to Canada.  Allen also enjoyed cranberry picking, trapping, hunting, fishing, and going to the casinos.

Allen was preceded in death by his parents, and by his wife in 2004.  He is survived by his brothers David (Joan) Stevens and Delbert (Judy) Stevens, and his sister Colleen (David) Forte; his step daughter Vicki (Dean) Kucaba; and many nieces and nephews.
