Sharon Katheryn (Beck) Kemmer

Sharon Katheryn (Beck) Kemmer, 70 of Bemidji, died Monday December 17th at her home. 

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, January 13, 2019 at Slim's Bar and Grill, Bemidji.

"Kay" was born March 21st, 1948 to Louella (Foy) and Charles Beck in Bemidji.  She attended  Waskish Elementary School and graduated from Kelliher High School in 1966.  She worked at Pamida and Bradley's Cafe.  She married Ron Kemmer in 1967 and had 3 daughters.  They later divorced and she had a son.   

Kay was not your average run of the mill lady.  She beat the odds and survived two aneurysms, lung cancer and kidney failure.  You would never know how serious her health issues were because of her Polly Anna attitude towards life.  She was a stop and smell the roses type of person which could be why she was usually running late.   She was always up for any new venture that came her way.  And you just never knew what was going to come out of her mouth.  She took her politics very seriously, which would explain the framed picture of Obama hanging over her bed.   Her grandkids and great grandkids were the light of her life.  Even on her bad days, she would get a twinkle in her eye when she would tell the nurses or even total strangers about them.  They in return loved her to the moon and back.  Any event they had going on was the most important thing in her world.  She enjoyed being outdoors working in her woods, having bonfires in the rain, gardening, fishing and playing cards, we will miss her crazy outlook on life.  God will have his hands full now that Kay and Marlene are back together. 

She is survived by her children, Ronda (Ray) Gilge of Kelliher, Collette Cole of Bemidji, Becky (Joe) Kemmer of Nevis and Ryan Kemmer of Bemidji; brothers Gordon (Joyce) Beck and Gary (Laurie) Beck of Bemidji; special sister Maxine (Loren) Bradley of Kelliher; grandchildren  Justin (Laura) Gilge of Bemidji,  Tristan (Dominic) Olson of Virginia,  Brent (Randi) Gilge of Bemidji,  Cody( Kaylee) Olson of Bemidji,  Gavin Gehlert and Tierney Gilge of Kelliher,  Jenna Berhow, Logan Mastley of Nevis and Nickeem Lawrence of Minneapolis; great grandchildren Bella Olson of Bemidji,  Parker Gilge of  Kelliher and Dawsyn Gilge of Bemidji; special niece Rachel Lloyd and her two beloved dogs Maylo and Rocco.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Myron Michaud and David Wilson and sisters Marlene Knox, Marvil Wilson and Marilyn Potucek.
