Ruby May (Sager) Ruzicka

Ruby Ruzicka, 94, of Bemidji, MN died Saturday,  January 26, 2019 at Havenwood Care Center, Bemidji.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 2, 2019 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Bemidji with Rev. Robert Wentzel officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Bemidji. Arrangements were entrusted to the Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home, Bemidji.

Ruby May Sager was born December 9, 1924 in Wisconsin to William and Violet (Benjamin) Sager. She grew up and attended school in Cass Lake, MN. She married Art Rockensock in 1945 and they lived in Bemidji. Ruby worked at Third Street Café, Land o’ Lakes Creamery and Dr.  Ghostley Dental office. Ruby married Joe Ruzicka in 1978 and she worked at Johanneson’s until retirement. During retirement Joe and Ruby traveled to 49 states. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, baking and gardening. Ruby was very active in VFW, American Legion and Trinity Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her children: Janet (Walter) Johnson of Rockford, MI, Carol Rattlingtail of Bemidji and Nancy (Lawrence) Otto of Bemidji & Ray Rockensock of Shevlin; her step-children, Frank (Karen) Ruzicka Osseo, Wayne (Judy) Ruzicka of Wilton, ND, Ken Ruzicka of Malta, MT, Vicki Ruzicka of Bemidji and Joleen (Mark) Schnell of Bemidji; 25 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Peggy Treager of Hibbing, MN and Connie (Slim) Sirjord of Hibbing, MN.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Violet Sager; husbands, Art Rockensock and Joe Ruzicka and brother, Roy Sager.
