Ronald Smith Obituary

Ronald Smith, 58, of Redby, MN died Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, May 18, 2018 at St. Antipas Episcopal Church, Redby with Rev. George Ross officiating. A wake will begin 1:00 p.m., Thursday, May 17, 2018 at the Redby Community Center. Arrangements were entrusted to the Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home, Bemidji.

Ronald Lee Smith was born August 20, 1959 in Red Lake, MN to John Delbert and Ethel (Garrigan) Smith. He attended school in Red Lake and graduated from Flandreau High School in 1979. He came back home and then attended forestry school. Ronald worked as a commercial fisherman and then he went to work for Red Lake Builders as a carpenter. Ronald liked to ride motorcycle, fish and watch T.V.

He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Smith of Redby; sons, Floyd Strong of Redby, Ronald Strong of Redby, Lee Neadeau of Red lake, Lucas Hanson of Red Lake and Dusti Southworth of Montana; 11 grandchildren; mother, Ethel Garrigan Smith of Heart Lake, MN; sisters, Leah Smith of Red Lake and Collette Maxwell of Red Lake and brother, John Delbert, Jr.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Delbert Smith; brother, Rick Smith; grandparents, John and Anna Garrigan and William and Ellen Smith.
