Robert "Bob" Andree Obituary

Robert (Bob/Bobby) Rudolph Andree, 42, of Pinewood, MN died Sunday evening, Nov 3rd, 2019 at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, ND surrounded by family.

Bob was born in Bemidji in 1977 to Tom and Julie Andree.  Bob grew up in rural Puposky with his earliest friends being cousins and kids from the neighborhood.  Their families would regularly stop in to have coffee at the house. He attended Deer Lake Elementary, Bemidji Middle School, and graduated from Bemidji High School.  He graduated from Northwest Technical College with an Associates degree.  He was a Master Carpenter and Construction Supervisor and member of Carpenter Union Local 1934.  He lived in Pinewood, MN for 20 years.

He learned his negotiating skills from his grandpa Bob. He would come up with new reasons why grandpa should buy a bobcat this week.  Grandpa would counter-point with him, “Why in the world would I want to do a thing like that?”  This would go on for hours, all the while each had a twinkle in their eyes and the discussion went on. Eventually, a bobcat showed up.  No one knows for sure if it was from the discussions, but it sure felt like it.

Bob believed that people should just look out for each other and help each other however they were able. When it came to Bob with all of his talents, he helped a ton of people out with hundreds of projects over the years.  Most of the time when it came to finishing up the work and someone was trying to pay him, he’d simply say “We’re good” or “I’ll take some of your cookies or donuts.  The next time you bake, stop by my place and drop some off any time.”

He is survived by his sons, Samuel Robert Andree, 19, and Wyatt Lee Andree, 16, both of Pinewood, and their mother Kimberly (Fredrickson) Andree of Shevlin; his father Tom Andree, Sr of Puposky; brother Tom (Jennifer) Andree, Jr of Bemidji; sister Tina Ramacier of Mound; grandmother Margaret Carlson of Grand Marais; best friend Scott Anderson of Solway; large extended family and more friends than can be counted.  Preceded in death by mother Julie Andree; grandparents Robert (Bob) and Norma Andree and grandpa Rudolph (Rudy/Red) Carlson.

He had a heart of gold, no platinum - solid platinum!  He didn’t just live the golden rule of treating others how you’d like to be treated, he lived a platinum rule of treating others the way they wanted to be treated. If a person needed a hug, who better than Bob?  If you needed a shoulder to lean on or an ear to talk to, day or night, Bob would be there.

So many people have great stories of Bob, how he helped, how he donated his time or talents or his creations. He was a bright spot in all of our lives and will be so missed.
