Richard Dean LaCroix

Richard LaCroix, 72, of Bemidji, MN died Monday, October 29, 2019 at Sanford Medical Center, Bemidji.

Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 1, 2019 at the Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home in Bemidji with Pastor Jeremiah Holst officiating.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  Inurnment will be at St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery, rural Bemidji at a later date.

Richard Dean LaCroix was born in Bemidji, MN on September 26, 1947 to Clarence & Celesta LaCroix.  He grew up and graduated from Bemidji High school in 1965.  Richard was drafted into the US Army during the Vietnam War and made a career of it being honorably discharged in 1989 where he was also a recipient of the Purple Heart.  He enjoyed traveling, target practicing, reading and book collecting.   Richard loved being in the presence of his loving grandchildren and family

He is survived by his wife, Kathleen; sons, RJ (Marcy) and Clarence (Katie) LaCroix; 8 grandchildren, Coby, Sevanah, Honor, Anna, Emma, Kensey, Noah and Jack; sister, Debbie Stangel.  He is preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Joann Swenson, Kris Steiner and Mary LaCroix.
