Richard Huewe

Richard Huewe, 78, Bemidji, died Friday, Dec. 21, in Sanford Bemidji Medical Center.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, December 27, 2018 at Calvary Lutheran Church, Bemidji, MN with Pastor Genelle Netland officiating. Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home, Bemidji and one hour prior to the service at the church.  Interment in Calvary Cemetery, Bemidji.

Richard William Huewe was born August 13, 1940 in Bemidji, MN to Hubert & Pauline Huewe.  He grew up and graduated from Bemidji High School in 1958.  He was drafted in to the US Army in September 1963 and was stationed in New Mexico as a military policeman.  He was honorably discharged in July of 1965 and on November 6 of that same year he was united in marriage to Marjorie Kirby in Calvary Lutheran Church, Bemidji.  Richard was self-employed as a sash and door specialist until he was forced to retire due to medical reasons.  He loved to take care of his yard and help others in need.  He especially loved when his children and grandchildren would be at his home and enjoyed watching them participate in all of their activities. 

Richard is survived by his loving wife, Marjorie; children, Laura (Aaron) Hilde, Allen (Patti Robinson) Huewe, Neil (Alaina) Huewe and Jeff Treichel; mother, Pauline Huewe; 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; sister, Carol (Dale) Buness.  He is preceded in death by his father; daughter, Beverly Lofgren; brothers, Norbert & David; sister, JoAnn Huewe.
