Matthew David Eason

Matthew David Eason, 35, of Cass Lake, MN died on Thursday, July 4th, 2019 at Sanford Medical Center in Bemidji, MN after a brief but courageous fight with esophageal cancer.

A time of sharing and reflection will take place on Sunday, July 21st, 2019 at the Bemidji Eagles Club at 2pm as part of the previously scheduled benefit hosted by his friends.

Matt was born February 17th, 1984 in Edina, MN to Darla Holmgren and Brian and Diana Eason.  His family moved to Bemidji where Matt would graduate through the YouthBuild program through Cass Lake-Bena Schools in 2006.  He met the love of his life, Kelli Muller, and they had two sons, Darren Matthew and Jacob Scott.  They made their home in Cass Lake and wed on April 14th, 2019.  Matt was a very kind and loving man who had many close friends that he enjoyed spending time with.  He especially enjoyed sharing the passions in his life with his buddies watching "the fights", music and working with Rez Rap Records.  Matt worked as a carpenter, most recently working near their home at the Cedar Lakes Casino in Cass Lake.

Matt is survived by his wife Kelli; sons Darren and Jacob; parents Darla Holmgren of Bemidji, Brian and Diana Eason of Bemidji, Scott (Kim) Muller of Cass Lake, Carol Muller (Herschel) of Cass Lake; grandparents Harlen and Muriel Muller, Cass Lake and Leo Blair of Cass Lake ; siblings Joseph (Jolienne) Eason of Bemidji, Daniel Eason of Bemidji, Jared (Jackie) Eason of Bemidji, Briana Eason of Bemidji, Christopher Muller (DeeJay Arens) of Bemidji, LeeAnn (Nahtanha) Muller of Cass Lake, Kevin (Amy) Muller of Cass Lake, RJ (Shanna) Jingco, Erica (Ogema) Neadeau, Bemidji, MN, Miranda Johnson, Bemidji, MN; several nieces and nephews.  Matt was preceded in death by his grandparents Joan Clara and Robert Eason, Mpls, MN, Bonnie Littlewolf, Cass Lake, and Laverne White, SD.

Pallbearers are Dan Moberg, Zack Suratt, Thomas Sorenson, Derek Cornelius, Eli Finn, Kyle Heisler, Bryan Vail and Zach Vail.

Honorary Pallbearers are Joseph Eason, Daniel Eason, Jared Eason, Briana Eason, Christopher Muller, LeeAnn Muller, Kevin Muller and all of the many friends Matt had.
