Joanne (Anderson) Anderson

Joanne “Jody” Anderson, 72, of Bemidji, MN died Thursday, November 29, 2018 at Sanford Bemidji Medical Center.

Memorial Services will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 3, 2018 at Northern Bible Church, Bemidji with Pastor Kent Dudley officiating. A visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church for family and friends.

After retirement from the Virginia School District, Jody relocated to Bemidji to begin a new life filled with new challenges. Never one to shirk responsibility or ignore a call to arms, she became the sole caregiver for her father, Stanton and sister, Janice. Since her father’s passing, Jan has been the recipient of all of Jody’s TLC. While Jody’s relatives are few, Janice and her cousins,  her family in faith are many, a community of believers reaching around the world recognizing Jody as part of their families. Above all else, Jody was a mighty prayer warrior. She stood for one and all, continually encouraging and serving others for His glory. Her bible, a constant companion, was dearly loved, with its dog eared pages and over flowing with prayer requests. Being an active member of Northern Bible Church, Story Book Lodge Christian Camp, Christian Women’s Club, Awana and ongoing bible studies filled her days. Jody’s other loves included music and travel,  having been exposed to beautiful music at an early age by her grandmother, Alice, who was a classical pianist and opera singer,  fed her joy in attending musical performances far and wide as an adult every chance she got. On one memorable trip while traveling through the Canadian Rockies National Park, the tour guide asked Jody’s traveling companion, Mary, to lead them in song. She handed her the microphone  Mary leaned over towards Jody who joined her in singing “How Great Thou Art” as they continued touring through the Rockies with the sun streaming through the trees.
