James “Jim” Carisch, 79, a long time resident of Denver, CO passed away Tuesday, August 20, 2019 in Albuquerque, NM at his home.
Memorial Service to be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 7, 2019 at Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home, Bemidji with Pastor Genelle Netland officiating. Family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Inurnment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Bemidji.
James William Carisch was born September 23, 1939 in Bemidji, MN to William and Pearl (Minor) Carisch. He grew up in Bemidji where he attended school and graduated from Bemidji High School in 1957. On October 26, 1962 he entered the U.S. Army and served at Ft. Benjamin Harrison, IN and was discharged on September 3, 1965. After the service he earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Bemidji State University. James then moved to Denver where he spent most of his life until he moved to New Mexico. He loved traveling and his favorite place to go was Italy where he enjoyed the area of Lake Como.
He is survived by his sister, JoAnn Strand of Bemidji; brother, Robert Carisch of Minneapolis and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Pearl Carisch and brother, Jack Carisch.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to Calvary Lutheran Church, Bemidji.
