Jack Lee Geller

Jack Geller, 68, of Bemidji, MN died Sunday, August 25, 2019 at his home.

Memorial Services will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 30, 2019 at Evangelical Covenant Church, Bemidji with Pastor Theresa Gehrke-Herwynen officiating. A Time of Sharing will be 5-7 p.m., Thursday, August 29, 2019 at the Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home, Bemidji. Family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Jack was born to Art and Evelyn Geller in Bemidji, MN on February 17, 1951.  He grew up and graduated from Bemidji High School in 1969.  On October 25, 1969 he was united in marriage to high school sweetheart Darlene Katzenmeyer in Bemidji.  Jack worked in the auto parts business from 1968-1980 working in Bemidji, Virginia and Aurora, MN.  In 1979, they moved back to Bemidji and Jack eventually went to work for Bemidji ISD #31 and worked there from 1980 – 2005 when he retired.  Jack was an avid Twins and Vikings fan and enjoyed hunting and fishing.  He truly enjoyed bonding in his man cave with family and friends.

Jack is survived by his wife, Darlene Geller; sisters,  Mary (Pete) Johannsen, Barb (Arne) Evans, Rose (Al) Stecker, Patty (Don) Eichstadt and Penny (Bill) Roberts; brothers,  Tom (Julie) Geller, Jerry (Joy) Geller and Ken (Deb) Geller; Darlene’s brothers and sisters and spouses and mother-in-law, Dorothy Katzenmeyer; many nieces and nephews and godchildren, Jacob Katzenmeyer and Kara Katzenmeyer.

He was preceded in death by his son, Lee Geller; parents, Art Geller and Evelyn Geller; sisters, Donna Hagenah and Pamela Homola; brother, Jim Geller; father-in-law, Alvin Katzenmeyer; brothers-in-law, Chuck Hagenah and Jack Katzenmeyer.
