When Death Occurs
Douglas Wiese, 75, of Bemidji, MN died Friday, July 19, 2019 in his home.
Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 26, 2019 at Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home, Bemidji. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Bemidji.
Douglas Dean Wiese was born December 10, 1943 in Bemidji, MN to Rudolph and Bertha (Olson) Wiese. He grew up in Bemidji and attended Bemidji schools. He married Mary Grimsley in St. Cloud. Doug worked his entire life as an independent trucking contractor for various companies. He also enjoyed shopping for and refinishing antique wood furniture. Doug loved auctions, fishing, guns, especially old Winchesters and spending time with friends and family.
He is survived by his daughters, Brenda (Randy) Smith and Elizabeth Wiese; sons, Bradley (Marcie) Wiese and Dale Wiese; stepdaughters, Melissa (Shane) Kvalevog and Lynn (Wes) Flateland; stepsons, Kevin (Kiko) Munter and Terry (Nicci) Munter; 21 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; special friend, Susan Munter; brothers, Paul (Susan) Wiese, Leroy (Patty) Wiese and Keith (Janet) Wiese and faithful companion, Corndog, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; 2 infant sisters; sisters, Arlene Johnson, Lois Wilcowski and Pauline Wilcowski and brothers, Jerome, Kenneth Marvin and Martin Wiese.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
