Donna St. Peter, 92, of Bemidji, MN died Saturday, September 14, 2019 at Diamond Willow Assisted Living, Park Rapids.
Funeral Services will be 10:30 AM, Friday, September 20, 2019 at Our Redeemer’s Lutheran, Church, Puposky, Minn. with Pastor Mike Naylor officiating. Visitation will be 5-7 PM, Thursday, September 19, 2019 at the Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the in Alaska Township Cemetery, Beltrami County, Minnesota.
Donna Mae Olsen was born October 22, 1926 in Bemidji, MN to Samuel and Mae (Carisch) Olsen. She grew up in Maple Ridge Township and attended Wayside Elementary School. Her education continued at Bemidji High School with graduation in 1945. She married Bernard Wesley St. Peter December 10, 1948 in Bemidji. Donna lived on a farm in Maple Ridge Township where she carried out many duties as a farmhouse homemaker. She was an excellent cook and took pride in baking delicious desserts. As a talented seamstress, she created and designed beautiful quilts which many close relatives enjoy to this very day. Donna was an eloquent writer and enjoyed reading about history. As a farm wife, she stayed very busy with various duties like milking cows, washing the cream separator, throwing hay bales, gardening, and other various farm jobs. Donna took great joy in spending time with family and neighbors. In her leisure time, she very much enjoyed the beauties of nature and observed a great deal of these pleasures riding around on her cherished four-wheeler. She will be missed by all.
She is survived by foster daughters, Betty (Cole) Keeler of Warroad, Minn. and Donna “Doon” (Gordy) Kaasa of Puposky, Minn.; sons, Bernie (Betty) St. Peter of Wadena, Minn. and Dan (Phyllis) St. Peter of Puposky, Minn.; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren;
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bernard St. Peter; foster son, Marlow Skyberg; brothers, Howard, Gordon and sister, Rainy.
