Donald “Don” Miller, 83, of Bemidji, MN died Thursday, May 18, 2017 at Neilson Place, Bemidji.

 Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at the Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home, Bemidji with Pastor Chris Hess officiating. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Monday, May 22, 2017 at the Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Bemidji.

 Donald Arthur Miller was born May 16, 1934 in Bemidji, MN to Arthur and Mildred (Evans) Miller. He grew up in Bemidji, spending a lot of time on his sister’s farm, attended The “Lab” School and graduated from Bemidji High School. Don served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and received a National Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal. On August 17, 1957 he married Beverly Ann Olson in Bemidji. He worked in shipping and receiving for Georgia Pacific/Nu-Ply for 39 years, retiring in May 1997. Don was an avid sports fan; either watching on TV or listening on the radio, and keeping up with the Lumberjacks, the Beavers, and any Minnesota sports team. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.

 He is survived by his sons, Donnie Miller of Bemidji and Randy (Michelle) Miller of Bemidji; grandchildren, Krista Miller, Kaylee (John) Yuretich, Dylan Miller of Hibbing and Nicole Pierce of Bemidji; sister, Char Schwarzkopf of White Bear Lake; sister-in-law, Diane Dahl of Bemidji and numerous nieces and nephews.

 He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Mildred Miller; wife, Beverly Miller; sister, Ellouise Traut Dahlgren and brothers, Marvin and Alfred “Fritz” Miller.
