Daniel Edward Lund

Daniel Lund, 78, of Bemidji, MN died Sunday, December 10, 2017 at Neilson Place, Bemidji, MN.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 16, 2017 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Bemidji with Rev. Robert Wentzel officiating. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Friday, December 15, 2017 at the Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home, Bemidji with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the Spring in Calvary Cemetery, Bemidji.

Daniel Edward Lund was born August 27, 1939 in Bemidji, MN to Edward and Martha Lund. He grew up on the family dairy farm west of Bemidji, attending Boot Leg and Riverside Elementary Schools. Dan graduated from Bemidji High school in 1957. He entered the U.S. Army in April of 1963. On July 6, 1963 he married his sweet heart, Jeanette Schmidt. Dan would continue to serve his country until 1969 when he was honorably discharged. He was a bus driver for ISD #31 for 42 years and also worked simultaneously for Norfarm Seed Inc. as a warehouseman for 36 years. Dan enjoyed deer hunting, gardening, playing cards, collecting old wrenches and working on his ATV trails. Dan and Jeanette were long time members of Trinity Lutheran Church of Bemidji.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanette Lund of Bemidji; son, Robert (Tonja) Lund of St. Michael, MN; grandchildren, Daniel and Alexis Lund; siblings, Martha (Dennis) Lyngen, of Alexandria,  Philip (Edee) Lund, of Bemidji, Charles (Susan) Lund, of Bemidji, Peter (Jackie) Lund, of Bemidji, Mary Berg, of Apple Valley, John  (Mary) Lund, of Bemidji, Margaret Welsh, of Silver Lake and Marilyn (Timothy) Leister, of Minneapolis.

He was preceded in death by his parents and infant brother, Paul.
