Dale Leroy Shepherd, 85, of Bemidji died Monday April 8th at Providence Hospital in Mobile, Alabama.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 24, 2019 at Olson-Schwartz Funeral
Home, Bemidji with Rev. Derek Claypool officiating. Burial will be at the East Zion Lutheran
Cemetery in Dudley Township following the service.
He was born on October 23, 1933 in Bemidji to Roy and Hazel (Vogt) Shepherd. He worked as a trackman for the Soo Line railroad from 1949 – 1954. He enlisted in the US Army in March 1954 and served overseas in the Marshall Islands, being honorably discharged in 1956. He returned to Bemidji and worked several different jobs. He joined the Sheet Metal Workers union in 1971 and worked construction throughout Minnesota until his retirement in 1995.
He is survived by sons: Michael (Norma Jean) of Mobile, AL, Patrick (Nancy) of
Front Royal, VA, Joseph of Loxley, AL, and daughter Jody (James) Trim of Azle, TX.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, and two sisters.
