Cheryl Paulette (Troftgruben) McDonald

Cheryl P. McDonald, 75, Bemidji, MN passed away on January, 15, 2019 at Autumn Hills Assisted Living Facility, Bemidji.

Memorial Services will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, January 21, 2019 at Evangelical Covenant Church, Bemidji with Pastor Jim Fretheim officiating and Dr. Morris McDonald officiating. Visitation will be 4-6 p.m., Sunday, January 20, 2019 at the Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home, Bemidji. Inurnment will be held at a later time in Pine Ridge Cemetery, Turtle River.

Cheryl was born in Edinburg, ND on February 18, 1943. She was the daughter of Edroy and Martha (Johnson) Troftgruben. Cheryl married Ken McDonald on December 23, 1963. She graduated from the University of North Dakota in 1964 with a degree in nursing. Cheryl was a member of the Evangelical Covenant Church of Bemidji where she served in many ways over the years, including the Deacon Board, bible studies, meals on wheels, communion to shut-ins, etc. Cheryl was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a knitter, quilter and a Minnesota Twins fan. Cheryl will be missed by family and friends but we know that she’s with our Lord and Savior.

Cheryl is survived by her husband; children Phil (Linda) McDonald of Bemidji, MN, Darin McDonald of Minneapolis, MN and Bobbi McDonald of Oakdale, MN; five grandchildren; one great-grandson and brothers Eldon M. Troftgruben of Edinburg, ND and Verlynn Troftgruben of New Richmond, WI.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister Leona; brother Merle and infant brother Eldon.

The family prefers memorials be given to the Evangelical Covenant Church memorial fund.
