Charles Cook, 79, of Bemidji, MN died December 1, 2019 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Funeral Services will be 3:00 p.m., Friday, December 6, 2019 at Calvary Lutheran Church, Bemidji with Pastor Genelle Netland officiating. Visitation will be 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Thursday, December 5, 2019 at the Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home in Bemidji and also one half hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Nary Cemetery, Bemidji.
Charles Deon Cook was born February 3, 1940 in Mt. Erie, IL to Charles & Lucille Cook. He grew up and graduated from LaGrove High School in 1958. Charlie entered the US Army in 1959 and was stationed in Germany and Vietnam serving as a military policeman. On August 25, 1962 he married the love of his life, Rosella Kramer in Kinmundy, IL. Shortly thereafter they moved to Bemidji, MN where Charlie went to work as a logger, then a railroad brakemen and then at Nu-Ply. He also farmed, raising all kinds of livestock and milking cows before settling on Black Angus cattle. Charlie loved to trap, hunt and fish. His most joyful times were being with his family and singing music.
Charlie is survived by his wife, Rosella; daughters, Polly (Joel) Rohde, Diane (Doug) Moe, Charleen (Troy) Barrett and Becky (Ric) Blue; 12 grandchildren, Terrie (Matt) Shekels, Brent (Erin) Mason, Cody (Stacy) Rohde, Kyle Mason, Curtis (Esther) Barrett, Tiffany Mason , Keri Rohde, Hannah Barrett, Brian Mason, Jon Barrett, Kathryn Barrett and Jim Barrett; 12 great grandchildren; siblings, Kenneth (Madonna) Cook, Joe (Regina) Cook, Patty (Frances) Collins and Melvin (Marleen) Cook. He is preceded death by his parents.
