Ricky Aaron Schlee

Ricky Schlee, 64 of Becida died Sunday, March 31st, 2024 at his home from a heart condition.

Memorial services will be held on Friday, April 26th at 2:00 at the Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home, Bemidji with Kent Dudley officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will be at the Fern Township Cemetery in Becida.

Pallbearers will be Roop Roberts, Dave Schneider, Mike Schlee, Merlin Bannor, Jeff Mayer, Dale Malterud, Keith Roberts, and Jered Malterud.

He was born December 21, 1959 to Richard (Dick) and Juanita Schlee in Bemidji MN. As a young man, he worked with his dad and uncle logging and farming. He also worked as a mechanic at several businesses in Bemidji. He owned the Becida Bar and Grill from 1988-1993. For many years he was self-employed, and most recently his passion was to raise and breed black German Shepherds. He took pride in using one named “Beauty” as a pet therapy dog to bring joy, love and comfort to those in Nursing Homes and the Veterans Center. He loved seeing the residents smile and enjoyed how much excitement it brought to them.

Survivors include two daughters, Tara (Joe) Lindstrom of Bagley, MN, Shay (Roop) Roberts of Becida, MN. Four siblings: Jack (Tammy) Weber of Centuria, WI, Lucille (Eddie) Knudson of Becida, MN, Tony (JoAnn) Weber of Eagan, MN, Rita (Paul) Malterud of Bemidji, MN. Four Grandchildren: Caleb Lindstrom, Phyn Blecken, Joseph Lindstrom and Noah Lindstrom. Numerous nieces and nephews and cousins along with great nieces and nephews.

He is proceeded in death by his parents, Richard and Juanita Schlee, his grandparents, Harry (Leonard) and Muriel Schlee, sister and brother-in-law Connie and Ron Schlee, and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
