Timothy "Tim" Bryan Vind

Timothy Bryan Vind, 57, of Bemidji, MN passed away peacefully on May 20, 2017 after a long battle with cancer, surrounded by family at home.

Timothy was born December 4th, 1959 to Patricia and Gordon Vind in Crookston, MN. He graduated from Crookston Central High School in 1978. After graduating high school, Tim worked for area farmers, was a volunteer fire fighter, and drove semi for many years which was his true passion. On June 24th, 1995 he was united in marriage with the love of his life, Lisa Tolbert, also of Crookston. Their first child, Kelly, was born March 29th, 1996 and their second child, Holly, was born December 28th, 2004. Tim loved life and enjoyed many hobbies including, dirt track racing, fishing, golfing, hockey, and softball. Tim’s strong gift of service lead to many occasions where he would be known to stop and help someone stranded along the side of the road. Given the gift of humor and gab lead him to reach out and comfort people in their time of need no matter the circumstance. His biggest joy and love in life was his family. Tim’s strong relationship and faith in the Lord carried him through his 10 year battle.

He survived by his wife Lisa and their two children Kelly (Cole Kindem) and Holly; his parents Patricia and Gordon Vind, sister Tammy (Jim) Baker; brother-in-law Scott (Mary) Tolbert, sister-in-law Cindy (Kenny) Janssen-Holweger; mother and father-in-law Virginia and Gordon Tolbert, as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents; Hans and Katie Vind, Edward Sr. and Marjorie Yanish, and several aunts and uncles.

His Memorial Service will be held at 2 pm Saturday May 27th, 2017 at Bethel Lutheran Church 5232 Irvine Ave, Bemidji, MN with Pastor Mark Kindem officiating.  Family will greet friends for one hour before the service at the church. Following the service there will be a fellowship time to share memories with the family. Tim’s desire is for people to dress casually or as they are comfortable.
