Dear Billy, It’s funny, but, I can’t help but remembering meeting you; I was up on my kitchen counter struggling to set my new window in place, and here you two came and grabbed ahold of it just in time and was able to set the window in for me, what timing!
Years ago, your Dad wanted to treat me to a Calzone, but there weren’t any on the menu so the Chef at Dave’s Pizza let Steve go in and chef one up, next thing you know Calzones were on their menu, but...your Dad’s were the best! He made the best bean soup ever, it had that Mexican flair, and his omelets with his sautéed mushrooms and onions were heavenly! He loved cooking and we loved that!
He had an extraordinary love of life; plants, flowers, gardening, everything fresh, the chives, the rhubarb, the water, the sun, even the junk. He called himself “the Junk Man”, he had a huge collection in his log cabin; when I told him it was so beautiful, he humbly, but proudly replied with nod, “It is what it is.” He was a proud man never afraid of work, no matter the size of the job, he compassionately helped everyone he knew.
I am so honored and blessed to have known your father.
He was truly an inspiration in my life and that of my family and friends. I will remember him forever with love.
