Roy Edward Stephens died March 15, 2017 at home with family at his side.
Roy Edward Stephens was born August 23, 1921 in Wapato, WA. He attended trade school for 1 year in PT Townsend, WA. Roy worked in Kodiak, Alaska in 1940. Joined the Army in 1943 and married Mary J. Peterson on April 6, 1943. After discharge he returned to Yakima, WA. Roy worked for Pacific Power and Light Co. holding many management positions in Lander, WY, Hermiston, OR and Public Relations in Portland, OR until retiring in the 80’s. Roy and Mary summered in Beaverton, OR and wintered in Yuma, AZ. He was an avid fisherman, golfer, dancer and hunter.
He is survived by his daughter, Donna Stephens of Bemidji and her partner, Pam Roiger and special daughter, Jenny Hollis, Red Lake, MN; grandsons, Ryan and Jason Stephens of Renton, WA and 4 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary and son, Terry.
