Beverly Jean (Cable) Aultman

Beverly “Bev” Aultman, 87, of Bemidji, MN, died Friday, March 2, 2018, at GoldPine Home, Bemidji.

Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, March 15, 2018, at St. Philip’s Catholic Church, Bemidji, with Fr. Don Braukmann officiating. Family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the church.  Inurnment will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery, Bemidji, immediately following the Memorial Service.  A Time of Sharing will be held at the Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home, Bemidji  from 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, March 14 with a 7:00 p.m. Prayer Service to follow.

Beverly Jean Cable was born October 14, 1930, in St. Paul, MN, to Robert and Agnes (Preston) Cable. As a child, her family moved to Becida, MN, to live on a small resort on Lake LaSalle owned by her Grandmother.  While living there, she attended Sunny Hill Country School.  At the end of WWII, she moved with her family back to St. Paul, graduated from Monroe High School, and then moved once again back to the North Country to return to Becida.  It was while working at the Markham Hotel in Bemidji that Beverly met Doyle Aultman.  They were married on December 15, 1949, in St. Philips Church in Bemidji.  In 1959 Beverly and Doyle bought the resort at Lake LaSalle from Bev’s parents, which they ran with the help of their children for approximately 25 years until 1974. Once her children completed grade school, Beverly entered the workforce, working for Montgomery Wards, as Manager of the Bemidji S&H Green Stamp Store and finally at the Bemidji Area Chamber of Commerce as an information clerk.  Beverly was an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary and twice served as its President. She enjoyed music and was a member of the Bemidji Chapter of the Sweet Adelines.  Beverly was a very devoted and active member of St. Philips Church where she volunteered in many capacities.  Everyone who knew Beverly will agree that her greatest accomplishment was successfully raising eight children.  She was one very proud Mom and Grandmother… a true example of a patient, loving and nurturing mother and wife.           

Beverly is survived by her two sons, Robert (Pat Speckman) Aultman of Becida and Stephen Aultman of Becida; and six daughters, Suzanne (Curt) Kringen of Becida, Gloria (David) Collyard of Bemidji, Kay (Larry) Mack of Bemidji, Janet Aultman of Lake George, Kathleen Ramos of Bemidji and Jacqueline (Richard) Knowles of South Haven, MN; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; brother George (Romelle) Cable of Lindstrom, MN and Sister-In-Law Donna Smith of Walker.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Agnes Cable; husband, Doyle Aultman; sister Norma Hildebrand; infant grandson and infant great-grandson.
