As more and more families are choosing to use cremation for
the final disposition of their loved ones, these familes are
also desiring to “bring closure” to the funeral
activites by having the interment in conjunction with the
services.
The installation of a crematory locally allowed burial while
still gathered, rather than many days to weeks to months
in
the future.
Aeon Cremation Service is a wholly owned subsidiary of Olson-Schwartz
Funeral Home, Inc. of Bemidji, MN. It began operating Dec. 1,
2001 in conjunction with the Minnesota Dept. of Health issuing
a license to operate. This license to operate does not allow
the crematory to accept human remains for cremation directly
from the public, but only from licensed funeral providers. By
state law, only human remains can be cremated in the crematory.
Thomas Schwartz and Joseph Waslaski have both become Certified
Crematory Operators by atteneding a certification seminar
sponsored
by the Cremation Association of North America. They oversee
the funeral home staff involved in the activiteis of the
crematory
following procedures learned while becoming certified.
